Most of Arnos Grove went up in one burst after the Piccadilly line arrived, and it shows. In the 1930s houses it is deep-set traffic lanes on the stairs and hallway, the odd pet mark in a back bedroom, and wool carpet that has simply held twenty years of foot traffic without ever being properly cleaned.
