What Bromley Common and Keston homes are like
This is two characters in one BR2 patch. Bromley Common proper runs along the A21, the old Hastings road, and its housing splits between the Victorian terraced cottages of Chatterton Village, which filled the former Shooting Common from the 1860s, and the bay-fronted villas and turn-of-the-century semis on Mosslea, Balfour, Albert and Salisbury roads and Crown Lane. Keston Park, the gated private estate of large detached houses, is a world away from the terraces a mile north, and Keston only joined Greater London in 1965, having been in Kent until then. There is no station in either place. Bromley South and Hayes, the terminus of the Hayes line, are the nearest, so most homes here run on the car and the bus, and a lot of carpet on local roads has the BR2 brand of fine, pale grit walked in from the common and the verges.
