Grove is the slice of north Kingston between the town centre and Canbury, and it is mostly solid Victorian housing. Kingston station sits right on the edge of all this, three minutes from Acre Road, with South Western Railway trains running the suburban loop into Waterloo. The main entrance is on Wood Street and the night one round on Richmond Road, so a lot of these homes are commuter houses with hallway and stair carpet that takes a daily beating. Drop down to the river and Canbury Gardens is a short walk away, which means dog walks, towpath mud and the odd riverside picnic all find their way back onto the carpet.
