Carpet cleaning in Harold Hill

London Carpet Cleaning cleans carpets, sofas and rugs across Harold Hill, RM3, from £36 a room and touch-dry in 1 to 2 hours. Fixed prices, no call-out fee, and a re-clean guarantee. We have worked these streets since 2009, from the Hilldene parade out to the edge of Dagnam Park.

What Harold Hill homes are like

Harold Hill is one of the biggest out-county estates the London County Council ever built. Land off the old Dagnams estate was bought in 1947, and between 1948 and 1958 the LCC put up 7,631 homes here for around 25,000 people moving out of bombed inner London. That history still sets the shape of the work. Most of the housing is post-war: brick terraces, cottage-style pairs and low blocks laid out at generous spacing, with long back gardens and big grass verges. A good number are ex-council homes bought under right to buy, so you get modernised interiors sat on solid 1950s floors.

The estate runs off Straight Road, with the retail heart at Hilldene Avenue and the long residential roads spreading north: Gooshays Drive, Dagnam Park Drive, Petersfield Avenue, Chippenham Road. The nearest train is Harold Wood, about a mile south on the Elizabeth line, so a lot of households drive rather than commute on foot. Central Park and Dagnam Park sit right in and around the estate, and Paine’s Brook and Carter’s Brook thread through the middle down towards the Ingrebourne. That green setting is lovely and it is also where a lot of the muck on the carpets comes from.

What we see across Harold Hill

The steady jobs here are family carpets and the traffic that comes with big gardens and parkland on the doorstep. We get a lot of front rooms and halls after birthday parties, spills and general daily life, plus grass and mud tracked in from the parks and the gardens. Pet households are common, so armchair and sofa arms, mattresses and rugs come up a lot. On the older ex-council floors, hot-water extraction lifts years of ground-in soil that a domestic machine leaves behind.

One honest limit. On a wool or wool-mix carpet that has been walked on a set path for a decade or two, the pile itself can be worn flat or shaded along the main runs. We will clean it back to properly clean and get the colour looking even again, but where the fibre is physically flattened from years of footfall, cleaning brings back the colour and not the lost pile. We will tell you plainly on the doorstep if that is what we are looking at.

Carpet, upholstery and rug cleaning in Harold Hill

Carpets get our hot-water steam carpet cleaning, which rinses the detergent and most of the water back out so the pile is only touch-damp when we leave. For settees and tired armchair arms we bring the same kit round to clean your upholstery, matched to the fabric. Bigger rugs we lift and take away for proper rug cleaning off site, then return them. We cover the rest of Havering too, and near neighbours like Harold Wood and Noak Hill.

Harold Hill questions, answered

Which parts of Harold Hill do you cover?

All of RM3 across the estate, from the Hilldene parade and Straight Road up through Gooshays Drive, Dagnam Park Drive, Petersfield Avenue and the roads around Central Park. We also reach the edges towards Harold Park and Noak Hill. If you are unsure whether your road is in our patch, send the postcode and we will confirm.

Is parking a problem on the estate?

Rarely. Harold Hill was built with wide verges and off-street space, so many homes have a drive or a hardstanding and the roads are not on a controlled parking zone. That makes it easy for us to bring the van close and run our hoses to the door. If your road is a busier one near the shops, a spot on the drive helps.

Can you get mud and grass out from the parks?

Usually, yes. With Central Park, Dagnam Park and long gardens all around, muddy paws and grass marks are the everyday jobs here. We pre-treat the soiling, agitate it and then hot-water extract it, which pulls the dirt out of the pile rather than smearing it about. Dried-in mud lifts far better than most people expect.

How long will the carpets take to dry?

Usually 1 to 2 hours to touch-dry, and fully dry within the day. Our extraction pulls most of the moisture straight back out, so you are not left with a soaked carpet. Open a window or put the heating on low and it speeds up. You can walk on it carefully almost straight away, in socks rather than shoes.

Every clean is backed by our re-clean guarantee: if a treated area is not right, we come back and put it right at no charge. We are fully insured and DBS-checked, and we have cleaned carpets, sofas and rugs across Harold Hill and the rest of Havering since 2009.

What our customers say in Harold Hill.

★★★★★
Had the front room and hall done after a kids birthday party left jelly and squash everywhere. Honestly didn't think it would come out but the carpet looks spotless now. Good lad, on time and got stuck right in. Cracking value for the money.

My settee and armchair were filthy on the arms where we sit of an evening. They came up so well I keep telling everyone. The young fella was polite and put covers down so the carpet stayed clean. Really chuffed with it.

Got the stairs and front room sorted. There was a black coffee stain by the settee that had been there ages and I'd given up on. Gone completely now. Friendly, quick and didn't cost the earth. Would definitely have them back.

Our mattress had a few old stains and a smell after the dog took to sleeping on it when we were out. Cleaned up a treat, no marks and no smell, and it dried by bedtime. Pleased we didn't fork out for a new one.

Had our big living room rug collected and cleaned. Came back much brighter and the muddy dog patches were gone. It took a couple of days longer to return than I first expected, but they did keep me posted. Good job in the end and fair price.
