London Carpet Cleaning cleans carpets, sofas and rugs across Highlands, EN2, from £36 a room and touch-dry in 1 to 2 hours. Fixed prices, no call-out fee, and a re-clean guarantee. We have worked these streets since 2009, from the converted hospital blocks of Highlands Village out to the houses along Worlds End Lane.
What Highlands homes are like
Highlands is the pocket of EN2 built on the old Highlands Hospital site off Worlds End Lane, between Chase Farm and Gordon Hill. The hospital closed in 1993 and the main block came down in 1997, but the surviving Queen Anne buildings in red and yellow brick were kept and turned into apartment blocks, so Highlands Village today is a conservation area of period conversions wrapped around newer townhouses and mews. Around it the housing changes character fast. The Ridgeway and Holtwhites Hill carry larger detached and semi-detached homes, several of them recent Taylor Wimpey builds, while Worlds End Lane and Gordon Road run to solid interwar and postwar family houses. The nearest station is Gordon Hill on the Hertford Loop, with Great Northern trains straight into King’s Cross, and Hilly Fields Park sits a short walk north with its 62 acres of meadow and woodland, the parking for it tucked away at the end of Beggars Hollow. It is a green, leafy edge of Enfield, and that shapes what comes through the door: muddy boots in autumn, dropped pine needles at Christmas, and a lot of carpet that has to look its best for visitors.
What we see across Highlands
The job we get asked for most here is winter grime in pale lounge carpets, the kind of dulling that builds up between the door and the bay window over a long damp season. We also clean a lot of wool: settees and armchairs in the older sitting rooms, hall and stair runners worn down the centre on the period staircases, and large wool rugs that come back to the workshop and leave with the pile soft and the colours lifted. One honest limit worth stating plainly. Stair carpet that is worn through to the backing down the middle of each tread will look far cleaner and fresher after a clean, but the flattened, threadbare wear itself is permanent and no clean restores lost pile. We will always tell you before we start whether you are paying to clean a carpet or to disguise wear we cannot reverse.

Carpet, upholstery and rug cleaning in Highlands
Carpets are cleaned with hot-water extraction, our steam carpet cleaning method that rinses the dirt out of the pile and leaves it touch-dry in an hour or two rather than soaked. Sofas, wool settees and armchairs are handled as upholstery cleaning, with the fabric checked and the cleaning matched to it. Wool and larger rugs we collect, clean properly at the workshop and return through our rug cleaning service, with collection and delivery free across EN2. The same van covers Forty Hill and Enfield Chase next door, and the rest of Enfield too.
Highlands questions, answered
Which streets and postcodes do you cover around Highlands?
We cover all of EN2 around Highlands Village and Worlds End Lane, including The Ridgeway, Holtwhites Hill, Gordon Road, Lavender Hill and Beggars Hollow, and out to Forty Hill, Enfield Chase, Clay Hill and Botany Bay. If you are near Gordon Hill or Chase Farm, you are well inside our area.
Can your van park at the apartment blocks in Highlands Village?
Usually yes. The Village has internal estate roads and resident parking, so we ask where to pull in when we confirm the booking, and we carry long hoses to reach upper-floor flats from the van. For the houses on The Ridgeway and Worlds End Lane there is normally a drive or kerb space right outside.
Do you clean wool carpets and wool upholstery?
Yes, and a good share of Highlands work is wool, given the older sitting rooms and the period staircases. We adjust the heat and the cleaning solution for wool so the fibres are not stressed, test colours first on settees and rugs, and use the gentler approach that suits natural fibre rather than a one-size method.
How long will the carpets take to dry?
Most carpets are touch-dry within one to two hours, and we open the pile and use air movers to speed it along. Thick wool and a cold, still room can run longer, so if a carpet is heavily soiled we will give you a realistic time on the day and tell you when it is safe to walk on.
Every clean comes with our re-clean guarantee: if a spot you pointed out does not come up, we come back and put it right at no charge. We are fully insured and DBS-checked, and we have cleaned carpets, upholstery and rugs across Enfield since 2009.
