What Savoy homes are like
This is a small, walled-in pocket of Westminster between the Strand and the Thames, and the name comes from the Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, dedicated to St John the Baptist and still owned by the Duchy of Lancaster. Most of the ground here is hotel, theatre and office, so the homes are the exception rather than the rule: a handful of private flats in Savoy Court off the Strand, the only place in Britain where cars legally drive on the right, and mansion-block and upper-floor flats tucked along Savoy Street, Savoy Hill and Savoy Place.
