What Sipson homes are like
Sipson is a small village whose shape still comes from the walled orchards and greenhouses that once ran across it. Sipson Farm worked hundreds of acres out towards Heathrow, Wall Garden Farm kept its fruit behind high brick walls, and there was even a jam factory on what is now Kenwood Close. The oldest survivors sit near the crossroads: the Grade II listed King William IV, a 16th-century timber-framed hall house long before it was ever a pub. Around that core the housing is mostly inter-war and post-war semis, Sipson Way laid out in 1923 and closes such as Russell Gardens built over old farm buildings in the early 1980s. A large share of the village is now privately rented or let short-term to airport staff, so carpets take heavy daily traffic and turn over fast. There is no station in the village, so getting about means the buses along Sipson Road or the car onto the A4 Bath Road and the M4 at Junction 4, with the planes overhead part of the day.

Two things drive most of the work: families and pets in the settled semis, and the churn of the airport economy on the doorstep. Can the van get parked, and what if the M4 is snarled up?
Parking is rarely a problem, as most homes on the closes and along Sipson Lane have a driveway or space to pull up close, so we run the hose straight in. Timing is the bigger variable: roadworks and queues around Junction 4 and the Bath Road can slow an arrival, so if we are running behind we ring ahead rather than leave you waiting.
How long will the carpets take to dry?
Touch-dry is usually 1 to 2 hours because we pull most of the water back out on the final pass. A thick carpet, or a downstairs room with the windows shut, sits at the longer end, so we crack a window or leave a fan running. Keep to socks until it is dry and the stairs are back in use the same day.
