What Slade Green homes are like
Slade Green is a railway village. The South Eastern Railway built its engine sheds here at the end of the 1890s, put up terraces of workers’ cottages beside them, most in groups of four under hipped roofs with tall chimney stacks, and opened the station in July 1900 to serve the lot.
