Carpet & Sofa Cleaning in Soho Square

Carpets, sofas and rugs cleaned properly in Soho Square, with fixed prices and no call-out fee.

Carpet cleaning in Soho Square

London Carpet Cleaning cleans carpets, sofas and rugs across Soho Square, W1D, from £36 a room and touch-dry in 1 to 2 hours. The square’s garden was laid out in 1681 and the Elizabeth line now runs directly beneath it; we have worked the streets around it since 2009. Fixed prices, no call-out fee, and a re-clean guarantee on every visit.

What Soho Square homes are like

Soho Square is the film industry’s front garden. The townhouses around the green are mostly offices now: 20th Century Studios keeps its UK base on the square, the British Board of Film Classification is here too, and post-production houses fill the floors in between. Sixteen of the roughly thirty buildings facing the garden are listed, from the Italianate St Patrick’s church of 1893 on the east side to the terracotta French Protestant Church on the north. The mock-Tudor hut in the middle of the lawn looks four hundred years old but was built in 1925 to disguise the entrance to an electricity substation; these days it is the gardeners’ shed.

The homes are on the side streets. Greek Street, Frith Street, Bateman Street and Carlisle Street carry flats above restaurants, bars and offices, most of them Georgian or Victorian conversions reached by a narrow winding staircase. Lifts are rare. Rooms are small, sash windows are common, and plenty of tenants lay a wool rug over old boards because wall-to-wall carpet never suited these buildings, though the bedrooms above the first floor usually keep it. Tottenham Court Road station is about two minutes up Sutton Row, with the Central, Northern and Elizabeth lines, and the Elizabeth line’s western ticket hall sits at the top of Dean Street.

What we see across Soho Square

Our Soho Square work splits in two. Offices on and around the square book us for weekends, so the team walks in on a Monday to a clean, dry floor; launch parties leave red wine in carpet tiles, and the lanes between desks go grey long before the rest of the floor does. The flats produce a different list: velvet sofas with candle wax trodden deep into the pile, wool rugs holding on to cat and cooking smells, long lined curtains that need cleaning where they hang, mattresses freshened before family comes to stay, and the odd wooden floor and tiled kitchen while we are there.

One honest note about those office traffic lanes. Where years of footsteps have crushed and abraded the pile, that is wear, not dirt. Hot water extraction lifts the grey and evens out the colour, but it cannot re-stand fibre that has been flattened since the lease began, and we will tell you on arrival which is which.

Carpet, upholstery and rug cleaning in Soho Square

Most W1D bookings pair our steam carpet cleaning with something else while we are up the stairs: upholstery cleaning for the velvet and linen sofas these flats favour, or rug cleaning with free collection, which suits Soho because a dense wool rug dries far better at our workshop than in a one-bedroom flat above a working kitchen. We cover the rest of Westminster daily, and you will find the same fixed prices in neighbouring Fitzrovia, across Oxford Street, and the wider West End.

Soho Square questions, answered

Which parts of W1D do you cover?

All of it. The square itself, then Greek Street, Frith Street, Dean Street, Bateman Street, Carlisle Street and Sutton Row, down through Old Compton Street to Shaftesbury Avenue. We also clean the rest of Soho in W1F and the surrounding W1 postcodes on the same price list.

How do you manage parking in Soho?

We plan it before we set off. Westminster runs pay-by-phone bays around the square and the area sits inside the congestion charge zone, so the technician arrives with time in hand, parks in the nearest bay and carries the kit in. You do not need to arrange anything.

Do you do end of tenancy carpet cleaning in Soho Square?

Constantly. Most flats here are rented, and agents expect carpets professionally cleaned between tenants. We work with tenants, landlords and Soho letting agents, can attend via key release when the flat is empty, and provide a receipt that deposit schemes accept.

How long will my carpet take to dry in a Soho flat?

Touch-dry in 1 to 2 hours and fully dry the same day. Small rooms above restaurant kitchens tend to run warm, which helps. Open a sash window an inch, keep the door ajar, and most bedrooms are back in use by the evening.

Every clean is backed by our re-clean guarantee: if a treated mark comes back, so do we, at no charge. Our technicians are DBS-checked and fully insured, and we have been cleaning carpets across London since 2009.

Reviews

What our customers say in Soho Square.

★★★★★
Office carpet on the square had years of foot traffic and a red wine spill from a launch we held. They came in over a weekend and it looks smart and professional again. No interruption to the team on Monday. Brilliant.

Velvet settee in the flat had a candle wax spill from a birthday that had set hard right into the pile. The chap knew exactly how to lift it and you would never know now. Polite and left everything spotless.
Balwinder ChahalGreek Street, W1D · Sofa & upholstery cleaning
★★★★★
Wool rug from the flat collected and returned within the week, fresh and bright with the cat smell completely gone. They wrapped it well for the journey back. Lovely communication throughout, would book again.

Had the mattress in the flat deep cleaned before my mum came to stay. A couple of old marks and a slightly stale smell, both sorted. Fresh and dry by bedtime. Quick, polite and fair.
Mukesh ChauhanBateman Street, W1D · Mattress cleaning

Wooden floor in the lounge cleaned and the kitchen tiles too. Both came up much better and the grout looks far cleaner. He felt a little rushed near the end as he had somewhere else to be, but he was friendly and the finish was good.
Bashir RahimiFrith Street, W1D · Hard floor cleaning

Long lined curtains cleaned without taking them down. They came up fresh and the room smells lovely with no shrinkage. The booking got shifted once at short notice which was a slight pain, but the work itself was very good and they apologised for it.
