What South London homes are like
South London is the widest spread we cover, and the homes change a great deal as you move out from the river. The inner river-belt is the dense end. In Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth and Lewisham you get Victorian terraces carved into flats and a heavy turnover of young renters, so much of our work there is end-of-tenancy cleaning on hard-wearing synthetic carpet. The middle and outer ring is a different world. Mud is the running story. Ground-in mud off the commons and parks sets deep into the base of a pile long before the lanes start to look worn, and a patterned family carpet hides it especially well, so by the time anyone notices it is properly bedded in. We pre-treat the lanes, agitate the pile and lift most of it. A fresh patch comes up well. A long-set mark ground in over months is not something we will guarantee out, and we would rather say that at the door than overpromise on the phone. The inner flats bring a second pattern. Filtration soiling, those dark grey lines that creep along skirting boards in airtight modern flats, is common across the converted flats of the inner boroughs. We can lighten it a lot, though it rarely vanishes completely, because the stain sits in fibre the air has been pulling dust through for years. Access is a real mix, so we plan for it: controlled parking zones and stair-only flats in the inner boroughs, then off-street drives out in the suburbs.

It varies, so we ask about it when you book. Inner boroughs often mean a controlled parking zone and a stair-only flat, while the outer suburbs usually have a drive or easy kerbside space. Tell us the setup and we plan the visit around it, with no surprises on the day.
Is the price really the same everywhere in South London?
It is. A bedroom carpet in central Lambeth and a bedroom carpet out in Bromley cost exactly the same. We do not add a premium for the inner river-belt or a surcharge for the far edge, and your written quote holds whatever borough you are in.
