What Woolwich Dockyard homes are like
This is the older, western end of Woolwich, where Henry VIII’s naval dockyard once stood. Greenwich Council turned the heart of it into a housing estate in the early 1970s, so the streets behind Woolwich Church Street, Frances Street, Warspite Road and Rope Street among them, are a mix of low-rise council maisonettes and walk-up flats. Closer to the water, Mast Quay added riverside apartments in towers of up to 23 storeys, the second phase finishing in late 2022. Woodhill, just inland, even has flats carved out of the old Slazenger tennis-ball factory. The station here is Woolwich Dockyard, on the North Kent line, with Southeastern trains running into Cannon Street and Charing Cross in around 25 minutes. The Thames Path runs right along the front, between Warspite Road and the Woolwich Ferry, so the river is never more than a couple of streets away.

In the estate maisonettes it is everyday family wear, hallway runners that take a hammering, stairs and landings in pale colours that show every mark, and the odd spill that has to come out before a tenancy ends. Is parking a problem on the estate, and does it cost me?
The Woolwich Dockyard controlled parking zone runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, so the bays around Frances Street and Warspite Road are permit-only in the day. Tell us the address when you book and we sort our own parking. There is no extra charge to you for it, and we carry our water and kit so we are not back and forth to the van.
Can you fit an end-of-tenancy clean before my checkout?
